Pokémon Champions now on mobile with version 1.1.0 update

Nintendo Switch console on table

Pokémon Champions is now available on mobile, with the iOS and Android versions launching today, June 16. The Pokémon Company released the mobile build alongside a version 1.1.0 update for the Nintendo Switch version, which originally launched in April 2026. Both the mobile version and the update come from developers Pokémon Works and Game Freak.

Pokémon Champions is a competitive battling game built around team-building and ranked online play, rather than a traditional story campaign. Players choose Pokémon from a rotating competitive roster, equip held items, and face opponents in real-time matches. The Switch version has been available since April 2026; today’s mobile release brings that competitive format to iOS and Android for the first time, opening the game to players without Nintendo hardware.

Cross-save keeps Pokémon Champions mobile and Switch progress in sync

Existing Switch and Switch 2 players can continue on mobile without losing their progress. Pokémon Champions uses cross-save, syncing team compositions, rankings, and items across all supported platforms. Moving between a Switch and a phone requires no manual data transfer; the game loads from the same point regardless of which device was last used.

For a competitive game where preparation takes real effort, that continuity matters. Learning which Pokémon pair well, which held items suit a playstyle, and how to play within the current Regulation Set all take time. Cross-save carries that investment forward rather than resetting it when a player changes devices.

Version 1.1.0 update brings Regulation Set M-B content

The version 1.1.0 patch, released to Switch players today, adds Pokémon and held items for Regulation Set M-B, the current competitive format defining which Pokémon and items are legal in ranked play. The patch notes state the update adds the full Pokémon and held item list for M-B, with a detailed breakdown available on Serebii.net.

The update also fixes visual errors during battles and addresses unspecified network issues. The patch notes do not specify which scenarios were affected. Pokémon Champions has expanded its competitive roster incrementally since the April 2026 Switch launch, and version 1.1.0 continues that pattern.

Pokémon Champions mobile launch gift: Raichu and Mega Stones

To mark the mobile launch, The Pokémon Company is distributing a Raichu along with the Raichunite X and Y Mega Stones to all players via the in-game mailbox. The gift runs for a limited time during the launch event period and applies to players on all platforms, including Switch.

The Raichunite X and Y Mega Stones let Raichu use Mega Evolution in battle. Mega Evolution temporarily transforms the Pokémon, improving its stats and sometimes changing its type, which affects how it fits into a team composition. Both existing Switch players and new mobile arrivals receive the same items during the launch window.

Pokémon Champions is available on the Nintendo Switch eShop, iOS, and Android.
