Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 leaked ahead of July Unpacked

Images of Samsung‘s next foldable lineup, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8, surfaced online this week via Android Headlines. The leak reveals design details and a full range of cases for all three phones, weeks before an expected reveal at a July Galaxy Unpacked event.

Samsung pre-launch leaks are now so routine that the company’s own reveal feels like a formality. This particular set of images aligns with earlier leaks and adds a more complete picture of what’s coming. The most significant element is a wider-than-usual foldable being positioned to go up against Apple‘s first foldable iPhone, which is itself expected later this year.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 specs and hardware

According to the leak, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 gets a 5.4-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch inner screen, both running at 120Hz. Battery capacity sits at 4,800mAh, with 45W wired fast charging and 25W wireless charging. The chip is reported to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, the same class of silicon powering Samsung’s current top-tier phones.

The rear camera on the Z Fold 8 uses two lenses: a 50-megapixel main shooter and a 50-megapixel ultrawide. That’s a trimmer setup than the three-camera array on the Z Fold 8 Ultra. Part of this comes from a naming shift: what was the standard Fold aspect ratio is now called the “Ultra,” while the “Fold 8” name moves to a newer, wider form factor.

A wider foldable to take on Apple

The wide Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the most discussed element of this leak. Previous leaks pointed to a device with a wider screen ratio than the typical tall-and-narrow book-style foldable, something closer to a tablet when open. This latest batch of images is consistent with that description. Samsung has not confirmed the device, but its repeated appearance across multiple leaks points toward something real. If it ships, it would be Samsung’s answer to a foldable iPhone that Apple has also yet to officially announce.

Case options shown in the images

A large portion of the leaked photos cover accessories rather than the phones themselves. Aramid fiber cases in red and blue appear alongside clear magnetic cases and kickstand variants. There are also novelty clear cases printed with bunnies and penguins. Samsung has long offered a broad official case lineup for its foldable phones, and this generation follows the same pattern.

Galaxy Unpacked is expected in July

All three phones are expected at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in July. The images are consistent with earlier leaks, pointing toward genuine renders or early production samples rather than mockups. The wide Z Fold 8 remains the main open question. Its existence will be confirmed or denied when Samsung takes the stage.
