Leaked price and date point to a November Xbox Series X25

A new leak details pricing and a release date for the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition, the translucent green console Microsoft is releasing for the Xbox brand’s 25th anniversary. French leaker billbil-kun says the console will cost €899.99, an estimated $899.99 in the US (roughly £660 / AU$1,255), and ship on November 27.

Posting on Dealabs, billbil-kun said the price is about €100 ($100) more than the standard 1TB Xbox Series X with a disc drive. The leaker has accurately reported on unannounced hardware before, including this week’s leak of the matching Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition.

What the Xbox Series X25 looks like

Both the console and controller share a translucent “OG green” finish, a callback to the original Xbox from 2001. The Xbox Series X25 also has light-up buttons and “Xbox 25” branding stamped into the shell. It keeps the same disc drive and 1TB storage as the standard Xbox Series X model that inspired it.

Microsoft revealed the design in June, alongside the wireless controller variant. It said the pair would arrive together in select markets as a limited-edition collection in November. Neither product has a confirmed regional availability list yet, and Microsoft has not said how many units it plans to produce.

Pricing and release window

billbil-kun’s November 27 date lines up with Black Friday, giving Microsoft a clear promotional window heading into the holiday season. It’s still unclear when pre-orders for the console will open. For the matching controller, the leaker says Microsoft will confirm pricing and an October 20 release date at Gamescom 2026, with pre-orders starting August 26.

If the numbers hold, the console and Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition would together cost roughly $980 before tax. That’s well above the $599.99 launch price of a standard Xbox Series X with a controller included. The premium reflects the collectible framing Microsoft has given both items, not a change in internal hardware.

A limited run tied to Xbox’s anniversary

The Xbox Series X25 first appeared publicly during Xbox Fanfest at Summer Game Fest 2026, where attendees reportedly received free consoles on the spot. That reveal, combined with the controller leak earlier this week, suggests Microsoft is building toward a fuller announcement close to Gamescom. The company has historically confirmed pricing and pre-order dates there for hardware already teased.

Neither the console’s price nor its release date is official yet. Until Microsoft confirms the details, the November 27 launch and $899.99 price tag remain billbil-kun’s projection, based on retailer and supply-chain sourcing, not a confirmed Xbox announcement.
