The PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct 2026 aired on September 20, revealing new details on 36 games and their downloadable content, including 13 world premieres. The broadcast mixed fresh trailers with developer interviews. It also included footage from the Tokyo Game Show floor, giving PC players a wide look at what is heading to Steam over the coming year.
Organizers structured the show as a rapid rundown rather than a handful of extended segments, moving through announcements in quick succession. The pace matched the scope. Horror games sat next to city builders, and remasters of decades-old franchises aired alongside brand-new intellectual property from small studios.
A companion Steam collection lists every game featured in the broadcast. Viewers who missed the live show can still work through the recap and wishlist titles as they go.
What premiered at PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct 2026
Thirteen games made their world premiere during the broadcast. Wane is a tactical roguelike built around descending into a man’s memories. Beautiful Freaks of the Desert premiered alongside it, a speedrunning FPS set in a future run by competing AI corporations.
Hodka, an open-world adventure about scavenging from a van amid ruins and fog, also debuted. So did the co-op flight game Fish & Ships and the four-player dungeon crawler Marked for Mayhem, which pits teammates against a shared objective while they compete against each other.
Not every premiere introduced a wholly new concept. Lufia 1 & 2 The Sinistrals Saga marked the first official PC release for the classic RPG duology. Ball x Pit: Risen Ballbylon premiered as a full expansion to 2025’s breakout hit, adding 20 ball evolutions, eight hunters, and four biomes.
Quarantine Zone: Miami Zero, Lemonade Apocalypse, Dust till Dawn, The Hollowing, Toxic Frontier, and the golf-themed heist game Really Illegal Golf rounded out the list of debuts.
Familiar franchises return alongside the new reveals
Long-running series took up a substantial share of the runtime. Stronghold 4 is returning 15 years after the last numbered entry in the castle-building and siege series. A release is planned later this year.
Nightdive Studios showed a gameplay-heavy trailer for Thief: The Dark Project Remastered. The trailer included a first look at a controller interface built with the original game’s mod scene in mind, though the studio gave no release date.
Core Keeper is getting its Riders of the Underground update, which adds rideable mounts, a new sub-biome, and three hydra bosses. Mycopunk is heading toward its 1.0 update. Hellcard is getting a sequel that keeps the original’s paper-craft aesthetic while adding new co-op deckbuilding mechanics.
Neon Abyss 2 adds a three-player co-op mode and a new final boss. We Were Here Tomorrow, the latest entry in the long-running puzzle series, arrives with new abilities built for two-person teams.
Several games launch within days of the broadcast
A number of titles are not waiting for a future release window. Brave New Wonders, a factory builder that lets players issue plain-text commands to robots, launched the day after the broadcast, on September 21.
The Core Keeper update arrived the same day. So did a new tower-defense and farming hybrid called The Rabbit Haul, which already has a downloadable demo on Steam.
Obstacle Overdive, a radio-controlled car racing game built around toy-sized obstacle courses, is due October 2. Neon Abyss 2 follows on October 8. The free Miami Zero update for Quarantine Zone lands October 15.
Escape From Playtime, a co-op survival horror game with a haunted-factory setting, opens playtest signups now ahead of an October 21 release. The puzzle sequel We Were Here Tomorrow follows one day earlier, on October 20. Virtue and a Sledgehammer, a game about demolishing your own hometown and the androids that have taken it over, arrives October 27.
Demos and playtests are already live for several titles
A large share of the lineup made demos or playtest signups available the moment the broadcast ended. Really Illegal Golf can be downloaded on Steam now. So can Fool King, an asynchronous autobattler, and the flight-attendant horror game Night Plane.
The co-op roguelite deckbuilder Hellcard 2 also has a demo live. Undefeated: Genesis, a superhero action game, released a new demo the same day as the broadcast.
Piroker, a pirate-themed poker game built around shifting relics, opened signups for an upcoming playtest rather than a full demo. Marked for Mayhem did the same, giving interested players a way to register ahead of its beta.
Horror and co-op titles dominate the genre mix
Tenebris Somnia pairs a retro 2D look with live-action cutscenes shot by a film crew from Argentina. Dust till Dawn adds a haunted-house cleaning premise scored by Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka. Vaewolf, described as part werewolf, part vampire, and part elf, brings a frenetic action bent to the horror genre when it arrives in early 2027.
The Hollowing is set in the same world as Lorn’s Lure, but swaps the original’s climbing for flying a plane through dense mist. Cairn is getting its first piece of free downloadable content, On the Trail: Deep Water, on October 29, adding new routes and a new character to the climbing survival game.
Cooperative multiplayer was just as common across the show. Fish & Ships, Marked for Mayhem, Hellcard 2, and We Were Here Tomorrow all require or strongly encourage a second player. Escape From Playtime supports groups of up to four.
City-building and simulation games filled out the rest of the show. Let’s Build a Dungeon puts players in charge of a studio developing an in-universe MMO. Loftia, a cooperative life sim set on a sky island, enters early access November 3. Young Suns, a spaceship-building game set in orbit around Jupiter, launches the same day.
Several titles are already live, and most of the rest land within the next month. That gives players a concrete, near-term slate to track rather than a distant wishlist.
