Roblox Plus subscription replaces Premium on April 30

Roblox has announced the Roblox Plus subscription, a new monthly plan launching on April 30 that replaces the existing Roblox Premium tier. The plan brings Robux purchase discounts and unlimited private server access, but drops the monthly Robux stipend that Premium subscribers currently receive.

Market analyst Matthew Ball, in his 2026 games industry report, wrote that Roblox has driven over 60% of the industry’s net growth in consumer spending outside China since 2021.

What the new subscription includes

Roblox Plus subscription members receive a 10% discount on Robux purchases from day one. That discount rises to 20% after three consecutive months. Roblox says it will cover the difference, so creators receive the same cut as before on any individual sale.

The plan also gives subscribers free, unlimited access to private servers, including games that normally charge a per-player Robux fee. Subscribers can send Robux to other players without transaction fees, though Roblox requires users to complete age verification and be over 18, or have parental approval, to do so.

Like Roblox Premium, the new plan includes access to item trading and selling on Roblox’s marketplace.

What it removes compared to Premium

The Roblox Plus subscription does not include Premium’s monthly Robux stipend, and there is no 10% bonus on purchasing additional Robux. Existing Premium subscribers can keep their current plan, but their 10% Robux bonus will disappear on May 30.

Roblox plans to offer optional Robux bundles at extra cost “soon after launch.” Until then, players who relied on a monthly Robux drip will need to pay more to receive the same amount.

Creator incentives tied to the Roblox Plus subscription

Creators who lose paid private server income through Plus can earn up to 100 Robux for every Plus subscriber who spends 60 or more cumulative minutes in a paid private server within a 30-day period. Roblox caps this at the five private servers where each user spent the most time.

Creators can also add in-game prompts pushing players to sign up for a Roblox Plus subscription. If a player subscribes after seeing such a prompt, the creator receives 250 Robux per month for each of that subscriber’s first three months. Roblox’s API documentation includes a sample script that triggers a subscription prompt when a player’s character interacts with an object, then immediately teleports subscribing players to an exclusive area of the game.

“Roblox Plus provides a new path for users who want to get more out of the platform and for creators looking for more ways to earn,” Roblox said in its announcement. “This launch is only the beginning.”
