Witcher: Blood Stone #4 drops May 13, concludes comic series

Dark Horse Comics releases the final issue of The Witcher: Blood Stone this Wednesday, May 13. The four-part Witcher Blood Stone series is set in CD Projekt Red‘s video game universe. It uses the studio’s version of Geralt of Rivia, not the character from Andrzej Sapkowski‘s original novels. Issue #4 brings the series to a close.

The release arrives during a quiet stretch for Witcher news. CD Projekt Red has not confirmed The Witcher 4 for launch before 2027, and no DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been officially announced. Blood Stone #4 is the only new Witcher content with a firm release date this month.

Witcher Blood Stone #4: what happens in the finale

Issue #4 picks up after a massacre that unfolded across the earlier chapters. The official description reads: “Sorrow and guilt linger in the wake of the massacre, but not all lives are lost.” Geralt returns to the dwarven caves for a final confrontation to prevent further tragedy. That closes out the storyline that has run across all four issues.

Issues #1 through #3 are currently stocked at most local comic book stores and online through select retailers. Each issue sells for around $5, putting the complete Blood Stone run at roughly $20. Issue #4 carries the same price.

The team behind Blood Stone

Daniel Freedman wrote The Witcher Blood Stone series. His previous credits include Birdking, Kali, and Raiders. Pius Bak handled illustrations, having previously worked on Slightly Exaggerated and Godfather of Hell. Dark Horse Comics has published multiple Witcher comic series alongside CD Projekt Red over the years, using the games’ visual style and character designs rather than adapting from Sapkowski’s books.

What else is available while waiting for Witcher 4

The standalone tabletop RPG Path of Destiny is available now for around $100 at select retailers including Asmodee. The game is a self-contained Witcher adventure that does not require an existing system to play. Its cast includes Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, Triss, Vesemir, and Jaskier.

CD Projekt Red has not confirmed a release window for The Witcher 4 beyond a broad 2027 target, and no DLC for The Witcher 3 has been announced. The Witcher: Blood Stone #4 hits local comic book stores on May 13.
