The Pokémon Company has released a new Wedding Kimono Pikachu plush as part of its ongoing 30th anniversary celebrations. The 9-inch figure is available now through Pokémon Center for $29.99, alongside a matching Wedding Dress Pikachu aimed at the same occasion.
The plush dresses Pikachu in a black montsuki kimono with two Poké Ball emblems stitched across the front, according to the official product listing. Pokémon Center markets both figures as wedding gifts for fans who want a nod to the franchise at their own ceremony, and the pair ships in the same box style used for past seasonal releases.
What the wedding kimono Pikachu design looks like
Photos of the new plush show a traditional montsuki kimono, a formal black garment usually worn by the groom’s side at a Japanese wedding. The Poké Ball crest replaces the family crest that would normally appear on the fabric, tying the outfit back to the games without abandoning the real-world dress code it borrows from. The figure stands roughly nine inches tall and uses the same soft build as past Pokémon Center plush releases, with embroidered detailing rather than printed fabric.
Pikachu has worn dozens of costumes since its debut, including outfits for Christmas, Halloween, graduation, and summer trips to the beach. Pokémon Center also brought back the original, rounder “Fat Pikachu” sculpt from Generation 1 earlier this year, giving longtime fans a look at the character’s earliest design next to its newer variants. Each of those releases has followed a similar pattern: a limited run tied to a season or milestone, sold only through official Pokémon channels.
Part of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary lineup
This release adds to a year already packed with anniversary tie-ins. Pokémon has issued a steady run of collaborations and limited merchandise since January, with more releases planned before the anniversary year ends in December. The timing also lines up with the traditional wedding season, which peaks during the summer months in much of the world, giving the plush an obvious retail hook beyond the anniversary itself.
The kimono look isn’t the only new appearance Pikachu has picked up this year. The upcoming games Pokémon Winds and Waves feature a vacation-themed version of the character, separate from the merchandise line but part of the same broader push to keep the 30-year-old mascot visually fresh. Between the games and the plush lineup, Pikachu has appeared in more distinct outfits in 2026 than in any prior anniversary year.
Both plushes are listed on Pokémon Center’s website at $29.99 each. Neither listing shows a stock limit or an end date, though past anniversary items have sold out within weeks of release. Fans looking to buy one for an upcoming wedding may want to order before the summer season progresses further.
