LEVEL-5 has announced that Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time will launch on iOS and Android this summer. The mobile version will support cross-play and cross-save with existing versions on consoles and PC.
Fantasy Life i is a life simulation RPG that first launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on May 21, 2025. A Nintendo Switch 2 release followed on June 5, 2025. As of the mobile announcement, the game has sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide.
Cross-play and cross-save across all platforms
The mobile version will support cross-play and cross-save with all existing versions. Players on iOS or Android will be able to join sessions alongside those on console and PC, and carry their progress between platforms. LEVEL-5 framed this as a way to suit different play contexts: “gather materials on the go or settle in at home for a more focused battle experience.”
For a game built around long-term progression, cross-save is a practical necessity. Fantasy Life i centers on the Lives system, where players choose and advance through profession classes (Hunter, Cook, Miner, Blacksmith), each with their own progression tracks. Players who have invested time across multiple Lives on console would need to restart if the mobile version ran a separate save.
The mobile release will include all updates applied to existing versions. LEVEL-5 has not specified which patch state the mobile port will launch at, but the announcement implies players won’t receive an older build of the game.
Background on the game
Fantasy Life i is developed by LEVEL-5 and LEVEL-5 Osaka Office, and serves as a sequel to the original Fantasy Life, which launched on Nintendo 3DS in 2012 in Japan and reached Western markets in 2014. The series combines life simulation and RPG elements: players select a Life profession and develop their character across multiple roles while following an overarching narrative. Fantasy Life i introduces a new story and updated systems while retaining the multi-class progression structure of the original.
The 1.5 million sales figure represents copies sold across console and PC platforms before the mobile launch. LEVEL-5 has not broken down sales by platform. Adding iOS and Android extends the game’s reach, though how it is priced on mobile will affect how it performs in that market.
Pricing and timing
LEVEL-5 has not confirmed a pricing model for the mobile version. Whether Fantasy Life i arrives on iOS and Android as a premium download or under a different structure has not been disclosed. No specific date within the summer window has been announced, and no mobile-exclusive content has been mentioned.
