Iman Vellani may be heading to Hell’s Kitchen. The actress, who plays Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) in the MCU, revealed she visited the Daredevil: Born Again season three set, sparking speculation that Ms. Marvel could appear in Born Again alongside the show’s expanding roster of returning characters.
Vellani made the disclosure during an episode of the Revenge Of podcast. She had appeared on the show to discuss her writing work and praised Born Again at length before adding: “I just got to visit the set of season three that they’re shooting in New York.” Whether the visit was purely social or involved filming has not been confirmed, but Marvel fans have taken note of the timing.
The Defenders are reassembling for Born Again season 3
Season two already pointed to where the show is headed. Its finale brought back Mike Colter as Luke Cage and Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, both absent from screens since their respective Netflix runs ended. Reports suggest Finn Jones will also return as Iron Fist, completing the original Defenders lineup roughly a decade after the 2017 Netflix crossover.
Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio lead the show as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Born Again has drawn strong reviews across its first two seasons and built an audience that includes longtime Netflix-era followers and newer MCU viewers. The Disney+ series launched after Marvel reacquired the rights following the 2018 Netflix cancellation, and it has used the continuity of the original cast to steadily reintegrate connected characters.
Ms. Marvel’s MCU path and a possible Born Again role
Vellani’s MCU appearances have been limited since The Marvels underperformed at the box office in late 2023. The Ms. Marvel series launched in 2022, but a second season has not materialized. Co-star Aramis Knight offered little hope for a renewal: “I mean it’s been a long time now, so I am not really sure. I would love to. I was supposed to make appearances and other things, but it didn’t end up working out.” He cited logistical, COVID-related, and creative complications as factors.
Vellani addressed The Marvels’ box office performance directly: “I don’t want to focus on something that’s not even in my control, because what’s the point? That’s for Bob Iger. The box office has nothing to do with me. I’m happy with the finished product.”
She is also rumored to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, though Marvel has not confirmed it. A set visit does not guarantee screen time, but Born Again has become the primary vehicle for reintegrating the Netflix-era Marvel characters into the current MCU. If Kamala Khan turns up in season three, she would join a show already serving as the main connective thread between the Netflix and Disney+ eras of Marvel television.
